A Smithsonian scientist finds herself in a world of trouble in the jungles of Madagascar.
Dirt. It was Kathryn’s most vivid memory from that day. The rich, loamy smell of earth that had filled her nostrils, leaving her intoxicated. The way the jungle seemed to accept her, even embrace her as one of its own. This feeling was in stark contrast to the first time she’d visited, fresh out of grad school and not sure what she’d gotten herself into. It had been so foreign then.
The overwhelming sense of being watched by invisible leering eyes no longer haunted her. She was one of the watchers now. On this day, in particular.
